ABOUT THE SOUTHWEST GREEN LINE LRT EXTENSION
The Southwest Green Line LRT Extension involves the construction of a new light rail line. The line stretches approximately 14.5 miles from downtown Minneapolis to the southwestern suburbs. Seventeen new light rail stations have been added in this expansion to provide easy access in the southwest suburbs. This ambitious endeavor seeks to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce travel times, and provide a sustainable transportation option for thousands of commuters.
ABOUT THE ARCHITECTURAL PANELS

The rolled perforated 1/8” thick aluminum architectural panels have been specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of the Southwest Station & Parking Structure. Over 1,600 rolled perforated aluminum panels were produced for the project. These panels are carefully perforated in three patterns, allowing for enhanced airflow, natural light transmission, and architectural aesthetics. In future projects, perforations can be customized to create intricate patterns, enabling designers to achieve their desired visual effect while maintaining structural integrity.
To ensure optimal performance and longevity, the aluminum panels are rolled and welded with precision, resulting in seamless joints and a sturdy construction. Furthermore, the panels undergo a meticulous powder coating process in three bronze colors, offering a durable and weather-resistant finish that can withstand the harsh environmental conditions often experienced in Minnesota.
